Villa Amna Olive is located towards the eatern edge of Rethymno’s 12km long stretch of beach.
Within easy reach are the beach resort areas of Pigianos Kampos, Adelianos Kampos and Platanes. Along the stretch of beach you will find some bays with rock pools, good for children and snorkelling and also longer stretches of sandy beach. Much of the beach is organised with sunbeds and umbrellas, beach bars and tavernas but there is also plenty of beach to be able to find your own private spot.
Heading east you can discover the harbour and bay at Panormo or head to Bali with its 4 beaches scattered across the village. Evita beach, reached by the road beyond the harbour, is a small bay with beautiful views and clear water, great for snorkelling. Take a pedalo and you may even spot a turtle or two.
If you head west beyond Rethymno, you can discover beach areas such as Petres which offers two bays - one sandy and one with shingle. Both have clear water and are good snorkelling areas. From Petres through to the resort of Georgioupoli lies a vast ,golden sandy beach. With plenty of organised facilities , beach bars and tavernas, there is much to be loved about this beach area. If you like to be away from the crowd, the beach is so big you will always be able to find your own spot. Further along you will find Georgioupoli beach, known for its calm, shallow waters which are great for families with young children.
Crete is famous for its beautiful southern beaches with clear, clean water. Preveli beach is a famous beach on the south coast and an area of natural and protected beauty with a beautiful palm forest.. Preveli beach is located at the mouth of a river that comes from the imposing Kourtaliotiko Gorge. Walk up the side of the river to discover rock pools in which to swim, taking the experience of Preveli beach to the next level.
Other beaches to look out for are Skinaria , Ammoudi and Damnoni. These beautiful bays are also great for snorkelling.
